Garlin Pictures Mission Statement

Garlin Pictures is a Los Angeles based production and development company. The Company’s principal shareholders and Chief Executive Officers’ are Josh Etting and Brian R. Etting. Between the two, this team has substantial and varied experience in the entertainment industry, representing a balance between innovative and creative thinking, financing, production expertise, and marketplace applicability.

The Company develops and produces film, television, and web content in all genres, including Comedy, Romance, Drama, Horror and Thrillers. The projects are produced at all budget levels. At present time, GP has a slate of over fifteen feature film properties in different stages of development.

The Company’s operating strategy and primary focus is to produce high quality film and TV product, and to supply this product to domestic and foreign theatrical and home entertainment marketplaces, mitigating the risk of production by leveraging cost with various strategies.

Joshua H. Etting

Partner

Josh has worked in the entertainment industry for the past Fourteen years. His experience encompasses film financing, development, production, talent and literary management, as well as screenwriting for both television and film.

His film credits include the Warner Bros. comedy hit, "Malibu's Most Wanted" starring Jamie Kennedy and Taye Diggs. Additionally, Josh produced the critically acclaimed Showtime thriller "Tough Luck" starring Armand Assante & Norman Reedus, "The Godfather Of Greenbay" starring Lauren Holly, Tony Goldwyn, & Tom Lennon, and "Relative Strangers" starring Danny Devito, Kathy Bates, Ron Livingston, & Neve Campbell. Josh also was an executive producer on the feature film "Kick'n it Old Skool".

Josh’s television credits include writing and producing on all three seasons of the sketch comedy show, "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment", for the WB Network. Additionally, Josh co-created, co-wrote, and co-executive produced two other shows for the WB: "The Starlet", with Faye Dunaway and Vivica Fox, and "Living With Fran", which ran two seasons, starring Fran Drescher. Josh was also a co-creator and an executive producer of the TV pilot "I Will Survive" for VH1 - Gay Rosenthal productions, and has sold television shows to New Regency, Warner Bros., Hearst Entertainment, and Comedy Central.

Recently, Josh completed Executive Producing two fifteen minute sketch comedy segments for HBO and Funny Or Die, entitled 'Derek Waters Presents LOL'. Two sketches, included in the segments, entitled, “Drunken History” just premiered in the 2010 Sundance Shorts competition and won.

Additionally, Josh has produced various comedy and charity benefits with a range of comedians, including numerous cast members from SNL and Mad TV.

Josh is currently producing a comedy documentary with comedy legend David Steinberg and Carousel (Steve Carell’s production company) and is attached to Produce the feature film "Dreamgirl" for Warner Bros., "Flipped" for Dimension films, "Spy High" for Bold Films, and has various other feature projects in development at both the studio and independent level, including ‘Dark Passage’ set up at Arclight Films.

Brian R. Etting

Brian has always wanted to be a filmmaker since he was a young kid. When he got his first video camera at the age of 12, he immediately put it to use, writing and directing small movies with his friends. He went on to study English and Film at UCLA and then landed a job assisting a seasoned Feature/TV director who had an output deal at Lions Gate.

Two years out of college, Brian started directing 2nd Unit and producing numerous premiere cable movies for HBO and Showtime, before segueing into independent features.

Some of his recent indie producing credits include the noir thriller, "Night Train" starring Danny Glover and Steve Zahn, the indie drama, "Broken" starring Heather Graham and Jeremy Sisto which premiered at the 2006 AFI Festival, and "A Good Old Fashioned Orgy" for Endgame Entertainment starring Jason Sudeikis, Leslie Bibb, Will Forte and Lake Bell (currently in post-production).

He formed a development/production shingle Garlin Pictures with his brother Josh, where he produced the comedies, "Relative Strangers" starring Danny DeVito, Kathy Bates and Neve Campbell and "The Godfather of Green Bay" starring Lauren Holly and Tony Goldwyn, as well as the Showtime thriller, "Tough Luck". Some of Brian's TV credits include the HD reality series, "Technology Jones" for the MOJO Network, which he served as an Executive Producer on, as well as the VH1 reality TV pilot, "I Will Survive" which he Directed, Co-Created and Co-Executive Produced along with Gay Rosenthal Productions. In addition, he wrote and directed the TV Dramedy pilot, "Viagra Falls" which won Best Drama at the 2006 New York Television Festival.

Brian recently Executive Produced two fifteen minute sketch comedy segments for HBO and Funny Or Die, entitled 'Derek Waters Presents LOL’, Two sketches, included in the segments, entitled, “Drunken History” just premiered in the 2010 Sundance Shorts competition and won.

Brian is also a seasoned Commercial Producer, producing spots for KIA, Jim Beam, McDonalds, Shell, NHL, Fed-Ex, KFC, AT&T, Hallmark, Dentyne and Burger King, to name a few.

He is currently attached to produce the comedy DREAMGIRL for Warner Brothers, and SPY HIGH for Bold Films, as well as DARK PASSAGE for Arclight Films
